The Ava Gardner Museum in North Carolina
Ava Lavinia Gardner (December 24, 1922 – January 25, 1990)
Before Covid happened, we decided to visit North Carolina and explore locations off the beaten path. Then our GPS brought us to J Smithfield in Johnston County. It took us around 30 minutes to go from Raleigh to there, but it was worth it. As you can see from our pictures, we were delighted to see all those remarkable locations and explore all the region had to offer.
When we got there, you could see the photos outside the building.
Then inside you could see the more photos of her life on screen.
You could see many photos of Ava Lavinia Gardner and her life. Even if many were in black and white, it was spectacular to see her beauty!
Ava Lavinia Gardner started acting early on, but her strong southern accent was a bit of a problem in the beginning. Louis B. Mayer was the head of MGM at that time, and despite some difficulties she had with acting and talking due to her accent, he did see a lot of her prowess in this field and her true potential.
It’s well worth visiting this place!
