In Kirkland, you will find all things Northwest, from Outdoor activities and vistas in its Parks and Outdoors to Fine and Casual Dining in its variety of Restaurants, Breweries and Pubs, all on the edges of Lake Washington.

Kirkland’s parks

Range from waterfront to wooded forests, providing the best in hiking and vistas unequaled anywhere in the state! Parks make up 25 percent of the City’s total square miles along the lake (https://www.explorekirkland.com/).

Kirkland’s restaurants

We headed out to Kirkland before the pandemic. It was a warm Summer day in June.  We discovered that many owned and operated  restaurants were by nationally acclaimed chefs, showcase the best of Northwest ingredients.  Of course, ready to be paired with exquisite Washington wine. The local winery is not far from here in Woodinville.

We did enjoy fresh seafood plus stunning views at waterfront restaurants facing due west towards the Olympic Mountain range, Seattle, and stunning sunsets. We were in the Carillon area and that is right on the water. There is a Marina there if you fancy to bring your boat in for moorage.

It is a picturesque area that is on the point and the view on this day were spectacular. Charge your phone and head to Carillon Point.

Check out venues we have liked:  Anthony’s Home port Kirkland and the Wood mark Hotel, with its Beach Café and Living Room Bar and patio.

Kirkland’s casual side.

There is a casual side to this water town, Enjoy the Breweries & Bars serving up Northwest craft beers and wines from a variety of wineries, wine bars, breweries, and tasting rooms. It has that small-town feel. No need to dress up here as the bars and restaurants are ready to welcome all people.  If you do go to the brewery to take a sweater, you will need it.

Dog Friendly

We saw people with their dog. And we saw you can walk the dog near the beach. So, bring your furry friend along, dog treats around every corner! Enjoy that drink and/or meal at any of a number of establishments that will welcome you and your dog.

Come on by, sit back or explore, the best of the Northwest!
