1) Dangast

The North Sea resort of Dangast has a white sandy beach surrounded by green meadows. Colorfully patterned beach chairs invite you to relax. Younger guests romp on the Wattbuttjer World Heritage Playground, while the grown-ups enjoy the cool sea breeze with a cocktail in the Beach Club. If you travel to the North Sea resort of Dangast in your own car, you will find parking on site. You can also take the 253 public bus directly to the beach.

2) Peter Ording

One of the best beaches in the North Sea is in St. Peter Ording. A total of 12km of beach, seemingly endless dunes, and lots of salt marshes await you. It is both family and water sports friendly. Here you can relax in a beach chair or play with your four-legged friend in a separate section. Sanitary facilities ensure a good sense of well-being on a trip to the beach. After you have parked your car at the beach car park, only a small jetty separates you from the coastal section in St. Peter Ording.

3) Dornumersiel

Excursions on the pirate ship, a colorful playground, and an exciting giant slide make the beach in Dornumersiel the perfect destination for families. Around 500 beach chairs invite you to relax on the green and sandy beach. Upon registration, your little ones can take part in an exciting ride on the pirate ship. The indoor play park Sturmfrei attracts with many activities for the youngsters. At the beach of Dornumersiel, you will find both parking spaces and a bus station.

4) Wangerooge

Exuberant beach life and relaxation are combined on the beach of Wangerooge. The family-friendly place shines with fine sand on which there are colorful beach chairs. It is considered one of the most popular surfing spots in the North Sea. Active vacationers will find perfect conditions for kites and windsurfing here. In the surf school, you take part in courses or borrow the necessary equipment. Restaurants provide refreshments after exercise. Since Wangerooge is car-free, you can walk to the beach in just a few minutes from the main town on the island.

5) Hooksiel

The lido in Hooksiel is a real bathing paradise for active vacationers. On site you will find many opportunities for action-packed water sports, including kite surfing, water skiing, and sailing. Many different course formats are offered in the surf schools, e.g. for beginners but also for the whole family. Those looking for relaxation can enjoy the sun’s rays in one of the classic beach chairs. Freshly caught North Sea fish and other delicacies are available in the outer harbor, which is not far away. You can park your car not far from the beach. You can reach it publicly with the Weser-Ems bus.

6) Nordbad Borkum


On the island of Borkum, the Nordbad, one of four island bathing beaches, attracts many guests. The fine, white sandy beach facilities include surfboard and kite rental, milk stalls and sanitary facilities. Take care of the physical well-being and a beach café. You can easily reach the Nordbad on Borkum on foot if you start in the main island town. Alternatively, there are also parking spaces and a public bus stop that stops right in front of the beach.

7) Juist beach
